Skill points for leveling up, elite skill caps, gold, random good drops...
If you hate PvE that bad, there is no point in trying to rationalize why you should like it.

Yeah there's a point to PvE even after completing the storyline, to save up for sexy armor! Outside of Fissure/Underworld, the PvE bores me to death also. But crafting expensive armor is what is the most fun for me in this game.

After getting to the Ring of Fire literally 2 weeks after this game was released I got bored of PvE and all this time I've just been doing PvP. Heck I have almost 600,000 total Balthazar Factions just from PvPing all the time and have everything unlocked.
PvE just isn't competitive enough for me. You run around with a 90% chance of completing the mission and once it's over there's no more incentive to replay it again. PvP is a bit like Counter-Strike in that you play the same maps over and over but it's the variety of players in those maps that makes it interesting.

edit: plus you will get a bunch of the min mods...making the max mods easier to get with faction...and no RA is not the best way to get faction. If you have a guild try GVG or pick a build and unlock the skills and play HA.
Some quests give skill reward...Ignore most of the people in this thread.....

Yeah thx this answered all my questions, I was just wondering if the forge was a good stopping point to focus on pvp or I was missing something important(like getting the atribute points was).

After finishing the storyline, you really have to make your own PvE goals. Do you want money? Items or armor? Or the challenge of high level areas? Grinding skill points and getting the money necessary to buy the skills you want is time consuming, but if you're intent on making your PvE character PvP ready, it is going to take time (and money, which you need time to get).

If you intend to PvP seriously, I would recommend keeping your PvE character and trying to get him PvP ready (multiple armor sets/runes, multiple max weapons, all skills). A fully equiped PvE character, while very expensive and time consuming to make, is much more flexible than a PvP character due to all the special equipment and armor/rune/weapon switching options availiable to him.

Agreed with EF2NYD, the true endgame PvE is all about setting your goals and performing them with different strategies. This may mean playing a non-traditional role (tanking mesmer, smite monk, or even a Spiteful Spirit casting warrior) just to try out new things.
It also helps if you have like-minded people to develop and accomplish these goals to work together.
In my opinion, the real PvE endgame is developing that community, rather than wailing against each other in mindless brawls.
Of course, this topic has been beaten to death so many times over, it's no longer funny. Suffice to say, people have their own opinions and there will always be someone to give you praises or insults because of your choices.

Was there really a point to this thread...rather than trying to get a rise out of the pve community that is?
